WONDERS of the HEART

  • Gifts Sour & Sweet

  • We feel an emotion rise and choose to repress, indulge or notice. Indulgence can look like loudly expressed and felt emotions, histrionic, violent or risky behaviors from emotional state and poor decision making building exaggeration, a lack of responsibility for self and hindering maturity. Repression can look like hiding, numbing or distracting. This can lead to learned forgetfulness, a lack of taking responsibility and hinder growth and intimacy.

  • The HEART thrills with joy, feels tender with sadness and fierce with anger. The HEART represses, indulges, avoids, rejects, or notices and accepts, maybe even celebrates! The HEART also can be open, understanding, peaceful and expressive. The HEART hopes, forgives and loves naturally.

  • How do you express emotions? How do you repress them?

  • How do your emotions define you or your experience?

  • Am I defined by my emotional experience? I have a body and a heart. Does this explain who I am?
